A lovelorn young man, Berg, meets Andrew, who lets him share a rented room with him in Kuala Lumpur. Inspired by Pasolini’s Theorem and Tsai Ming Liang, James Lee’s third film is a series of insights into the lives of listless youth. From an aspiring filmmaker to the sleazy landlord, their lives intertwine in the strangest encounters. But it is not just the characters in the apartment who have stories; the house itself holds its own secret. Understated and sometimes bizarre, Room To Let is a depiction of heartbreak, loneliness and alienation that plagues the young Malaysians.
