As he enters the fifth decade of his life, Harry has nothing to show for it. Over drunken nights with his drinking buddy Selva, he alternately rages against an unfaithful ex-wife who gambled away his savings, regrets the alienation of his only son, and spins dreams of a simple, peaceful retirement in the Australian city of Perth. When he loses his job as a shipyard security guard, he is forced to work under his young friend Angry Boy Lee, driving high-class prostitutes to their rich clientele. One in particular, a young Vietnamese girl named May, catches Harry's eye, and when the two seem to connect, he takes her under his wing. But as the nights pass, May returns to his car with an increasingly ugly collection of welts and bruises, and Harry decides that he will save this young girl, at any cost. Chronicled as Singapore's answer to "Taxi Driver," and shot on 20 locations that archive this fast-changing city, Djinn promises a dark tale and delivers Harry's gruesome, violent quest for redemption.
